International Admissions

Your chance to be part of a caring, exciting, dynamic and academic community here in Norwich.

"International pupils are welcomed in our community and do much to enrich it. Each brings something individual to the school and all serve to open our eyes and minds to the wider world, increasing our knowledge and respect for other cultures.

We have, I believe, a fully integrated community with academic and extra-curricular opportunities which prepare the individual to follow the path they choose when they leave us, while also establishing a lifelong connection with friends they have made".

Steffan Griffiths, Head Master

Homestay and Guardianship

Norwich School is a day school, and so our international pupils are placed with members of our team of trusted and highly-experienced ‘homestay parents’, all of whom are rigorously interviewed and undergo vetting by the police. The welfare, happiness, safety and security of our international pupils are of paramount importance and we consult regularly with our homestay pupils to ensure that they are completely satisfied with the environments in which they lodge and study.
Our homestay scheme is managed by Gabbitas Education who also act as guardians to international pupils.

To find out more about how Norwich School works with Gabbitas to support our international pupils' homestay arrangements, please watch the short film below: https://vimeo.com/167758958/ab630424f2

Entry testing and UKiset

We will consider applicants put forward by agents and are also happy to receive direct approaches and applications. We seriously consider all quality applicants that show an interest in Norwich School.

We expect levels of English to be high; an IELTS score of 5.5 at 15.5 years old is a good marker. We test English proficiency through the Oxford English Placement Test, which all candidates take. If applicants wish to study Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Maths, they must take further tests to move through the application process. If candidates are successful at OPET, school tests and a face-to-face or Skype interview, they are put forward by the International Admissions team for consideration by the Head Master and the Director of Studies. The decision made at this meeting is final.

We are happy to accept applicants throughout the school year and will indicate on our website when our international list is full.

UKiset

We accept UKiset results, but candidates should expect to sit further tests. If you have already taken UKiset please complete the ‘School Selection Form’ on the UKiset website and we will respond accordingly when we receive your UKiset Profile Package.

N.B. UKiset is not a requirement for entry to Norwich School. Please see the link to the Admissions Process above for further information.
