Friends of Norwich School

The Friends of Norwich School

The Friends community incorporates past pupils and their parents, current parents and anyone in the wider community who has an interest in Norwich School.

This diversity is reflected in the membership of our Committee.

What we do

The Friends of Norwich School are involved in supporting and collaborating with both the Lower and Senior schools. Our work includes organising annual social and cultural events, along with other activities which are often linked to fundraising.

This in turn allows us to provide financial support for the award of a half-bursary every year, as well as other forms of support for school activities and initiatives.

The main Committee meets once a term and works closely with the school throughout the year. Social activities at the school are organised by a separate team made up of current parents and supported by the Friends Committee.

How did we spend Friends’ funds this year?

After a particularly successful fundraising year, Friends have been able to support two Sixth Form bursaries while meeting every request for funds made by the staff.

Friends Fund activities enrich pupils’ experience of school life. A snapshot of this year’s funding indicates the breadth of the opportunities available to them.

We purchased camera equipment for the Music department, editing software and a computer for the Aspect Film makers and a motion-based camera for the rowing club.

Other clubs we have supported include Bushcraft Survival, Languages and Cheerleading.

We will be replacing playground equipment in the Lower School as well as extending the Trim Trail.

Friends’ funds will also support a ‘Day of Languages’ and an exciting new lecture programme in 2017.

We would like to thank all of our donors for their support of our events and of the second-hand uniform shop, which have enabled us to fund many pupil activities.
